Online Preflighting of all PDF files

Gone are the days of only finding out there are file problems when the Printer rejects them!

We all know that the vast majority of Preflight problems come from Author supplied art, these can now be Professionally Preflighted online in the WorkFlow system on Upload. The WorkFlow system utilises and automates PitStop Professional Server giving the user detailed control over all aspects of Preflighting.

If you do not have a particular Printer's PDF preferences for the type of job to be printed (single colour, full CMYK or spot colour, etc. then we can apply a general house template to check for basic problems. The WorkFlow System can even automatically fix simple errors such as hairlines, flatten to black and white if colour files are supplied.

NOTE: It is strongly suggested that "auto fix" only be used if errors occur late in the production cycle as the Application Files files held by the comp will obviously not be updated.

We are currently building a library of the job options of the major Printers so if you know who is going to print the publication on setup the correct Job Option can be chosen once and then forgotten until completion.

If a file fails Preflight, a PitStop error log is generated and automatically replaces the thumbnail making it easy to spot and easy for the user responsible for the file to download the error log and fix the relevant problem. The illustration or page can then be amended, re-submitted and re-preflighted. This can even be done with single illustrations well before they get anywhere near pagination.
